The subway doesn't have to be close

When it comes to studying life in New York, the subway must be a topic that everyone can't avoid. Many students pay special attention to whether there is a subway station near the apartment when renting a house.

But the recent series of demonic incidents in New York have made everyone shy away from the subway.

But the subway isn't the only way to get around. Why do you say that? Because good apartment buildings will provide free shuttle bus service, as long as you can take the bus at a fixed point according to the schedule, you don't have to worry about no seats and homeless.

Bus near the building is also a good option. Compared to the subway, New York's buses are safer and cleaner.

The riverside buildings like SKY and AC are popular because of bus stops. For those who haven't tried it yet, highly recommend!

The site with Citi Bike at the door is also the best solution for transportation. After all, the congestion in New York is really terrible. I believe that many students have the experience of riding a shared bicycle to school because they missed the subway.

Citi Bikes are basically scattered all over New York, and there are also dedicated bicycle lanes, so you don't have to worry about safety and traffic jams.

In general, all roads lead to Rome, so when you rent a house, you don't have to pay attention to the subway.

Numbers don't matter, use a larger area

New York's land is precious, and every square meter of land shows its value. Many students will use the domestic rental area to compare when they choose to rent a house, so some buildings will calculate some "unnecessary" area, just to make the total area number look considerable.

But these strange algorithms and apartment types have no actual use value. Take 2B of a fancy apartment as an example. The total area marked is 1386 sqft, but the corridor is long enough to play bowling. The space used is less than 1000 sqft, only three quarters of the total area.

In contrast, it is also 2B. Although this set is marked 1009 sqft, the room area is larger than the previous set.

So don't read too much into the numbers, useable area is king!

Who says floor-to-ceiling windows are the best choice

Many students who are new to New York may want to live in an apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows and enjoy the Manhattan view.

But in fact, floor-to-ceiling windows do not need to be considered when renting a house, because New York buildings generally have large-area windows. Due to some factors such as the external wall load-bearing, they will not really "fall" to the ground like in China.

For example, OMS, which is famous for its scenery, is not a floor-to-ceiling window in the traditional sense, but it does not affect the view and lighting at all.

Doesn't have to face south

New York is a city built along a river, so many buildings are not positive.

New students may not be used to it and only want to find a south-facing apartment. But in fact, you don't have to stick to the issue of orientation, east river in the east, hudson river in the west, Brooklyn Bridge in the south, and Central Park in the north, all of them have a unique flavor.

In addition, most of the apartments have large windows, so the lighting is also very good, and students can let go of their obsessions with peace of mind.

Laundry Room is really not dirty

Some buildings are good, close to the school, and the price is reasonable, but there is no indoor washing and drying. Many students will automatically filter out these apartments.

But you know what, Laundry Room dirty is a stereotype. Every day in the apartment, staff will disinfect the washing and drying room in the early morning, which is more thorough than the self-cleaning function of the washing machine.
